#bringitdowntown with made you blush (and a giveaway!)

“Holidays are all about the glow.”

It’s a brisk Saturday afternoon in downtown Fredericton and I’m perched in the makeup chair at Made You Blush (59 York St.) while Kyra Baldwin works her magic.   This year our #bringitdowntown challenge was to try something new.  What better way to start than a new look for all those holiday festivities that are just around the corner. 

We had so much fun - there was glitter involved!  It was like arts and crafts for my face!

favourite look for the holidays:

Kyra: Glitter and jewel tones,  rich and saturated, bold lips and shimmer

Abigail: A really dark lip, bold lashes and softer eyes

Autumn: Bold lips, bright cheeks and a nearly naked eye with a hint of shimmer at the tearduct and as liner

one item that should be in every makeup bag:

Kyra: Brow powder  - it creates a frame for the face even if you’re not made up

Abigail:  Lengthening, volumizing mascara

Autumn: A good foundation , beauty balm or tinted moisturizer – it starts from there.

biggest make-up mistake:

Kyra: Lip-liner ring! With a lot of the products now you can skip the lip-liner.

Abigail:  Being too timid to try new things and getting stuck in a rut.

Autumn:  Over-use or wrong colour – a little goes a long way!

best everyday look:

Kyra: A shadow colour that contrasts with your eye colour

Abigail:  Liner, mascara, a little highlight on the eyes and a nice lipgloss

Autumn:  Lots of lashes and flawless skin, a little light on the eyes and a dab of lipgloss.
